San Francisco Avengers:
March 19 and 26, 1997:
Along with hundreds of other activists, Avengers join in
the powerful chorus of voices demanding justice for
Aaron Williams, an African-American man who was
killed by cops. One of the cops, Marc Andaya, has been
guilty of numerous racist attacks during his time on the
force -- even the Chief of Police recommended a harsher
punishment than the Police Commission gave him!
What's up? Fire Andaya! Hold the police accountable for
On 21 February 1997 a bomb went off at the Otherside, a primarily
gay and lesbian bar in Atlanta, Ga. On 23
February 1997 The Atlanta Chapter of the Lesbian Avengers
organized a rally near the bomb site.
August 14th, 1996: Protested the Chritsian Coalition's national agenda.
The action began with
fire eating in Dupont Circle Park and continued to
join the Pride, Faith and Anger march along Conneticut
Avenue to join the NOW demonstration at the
Washington Hilton - where the
Christian Coalition was
holding a national convention.
As part of the march, The Lesbian Avengers featured a crucified
Lesbian being led along "The Stations of the Christian Coalition Cross."

On December 2nd, 1995, Cambridge's Porter Square branch of Jenny
Craig was the unintended host to the First Annual Lesbian Avenger
Dykes of all sizes fed themselves and each other outside Jenny
handing out our flier "Women Should not Live on Bread Alone" (which
outlined how the diet industry perpetuated racism and sexism and
operated by the devil's minions).
